"To have immediate and dramatic impact is a quality I strive to achieve
with my work when developing a painting that can act as a visual shift
in perception, a landscape for the mind's eye. Through my paintings
try to capture one's attention to the extent that they are caught up in a
new mindful experience that adds richly to their mind, heart, and soul.
A painting can create a sense of adventure, a kind of visual magic.
Often I use my own interpretation of nature and the dramatic effects
that it has to offer in which to hang my ideas on."

TESTIMONIALS & REVIEWS
Patty & David Pierce
"When I first asked Gary to paint me a picture of a pineapple, he looked at me as if I had lost my mind - I mean who does that? He laughed at me despite my protests of "I'm serious!" But by the third time I could see the wheels were turning and before too long he was telling me he had 2 ideas for my pineapple. What this meant would be kept secret until the big reveal. I couldn't have been more amazed and downright giddy over the results! I'm fairly certain my husband and I are the only proud collectors of Surreal Pineapples! The detail in each picture is phenomenal! Fun and whimsical!"

"Gary's work combines extraordinarily realistic detail with an ethereal soul. They draw you in. His paintings resonate with you in an experience; you are there, in them, for a present moment in time."
